Sustainability of poultry egg output and efficiency: a risk-mitigating perspective

Introduction Agricultural insurance is crucial to reducing financial exposures and vulnerabilities, managing the production risks of poultry farmers while also hunger levels. Unfortunately, it has not been effective in developing countries, like Nigeria. Methods This study examined outcome agricultural use on egg output efficiency Oyo State, The multistage sampling technique was adopted select 120 152 insured uninsured farmers, respectively. data gathered, using a well-designed questionnaire, analyzed by descriptive statistics, logistic regression model, Stochastic Production Frontier. Results Discussion showed that majority (about 74% 77%) respectively, were small-scale who operated low capital investment, making difficult take policy. Educational level, farming size, access credit facilities, previous mortality rate, sales challenges, net farm income significant variables affecting level insurance. result stochastic frontier statistically farmers’ inefficiency. highlights importance formulating policies promote private sector involvement, ensure prompt indemnity payment, encourage adopt policies, ultimately aiding affected improving scale, mitigating risks.
